About this song
"hot girl bummer" was blackbear's first single after his fifth studio album, ANONYMOUS, and was released with a low-budget music video directed by Gilbert Trejo, which blackbear and his best friend Cesar Silva creative directed. A higher budget video directed by Adam Powell followed in November 2019. The song is blackbear's take on the #hotgirlsummer trend, and although some Megan Thee Stallion fans reacted negatively, blackbear said it relates to the caption trend and is not a parody.
