About this song
The text presents this Cavetown song as one that could be read on the surface as being about struggles with depression and anxiety. It also connects the song to the transgender experience, noting that the artist, Robbie Daniel Skinner, is transmasculine and uses he/they pronouns.
What it's about
The song is read as a reflection on Robbie mourning the parts of his life as "Juliet" and hoping that "she" thinks well of him and is proud of how far he has come since transitioning. It is also described as a testament to gender dysphoria and to living with mental illness.
