Forgot About Dre

About this song

Forgot About Dre was released as the second single from Dr. Dre's 2001 album and peaked at #25 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart. Eminem wrote almost all of the lyrics, including most of Dre's verses, and the lyrics were written before the track was made. The song earned a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group and won Best Rap Video at the MTV Video Music Awards.

What it's about

The song is Dre's response to talk on the street that he had fallen off and could no longer make music after his time between records. It was his way of answering those doubts about him.
