Bring Me To Life

About this song

After Wind-Up Records asked the band to add a full-time rapper and the band refused, the label came back with a compromise: one song would feature a guest rapper, and that song was this one. It is Evanescence's debut single and breakout hit, helped by its inclusion on the soundtrack to the 2003 film Daredevil. It reached number one in Italy, Australia and the UK, and made the top 5 in Germany, Canada and the US in spring 2003.

What it's about

Amy Lee and Ben Moody have said the song grew out of a wish to make the most of life. Lee has also described it as inspired by a rough period when her future husband suddenly asked her if she was happy.
