About this song
It was originally intended to be Evanescence's first single from the debut album Fallen, but the release of the Daredevil soundtrack led to Bring Me To Life being released first instead. The music video was directed by Philipp Stölzl and filmed in May 2003 in Germany, showing the band performing at a concert while fans turn into zombies. Amy Lee designed both dresses she wears in the video, and Billboard ranked it #4 on its list of the 15 scariest music videos ever.
What it's about
Amy Lee has described the song as being about getting out of a bad relationship, and reaching the point where you realize something has to change and you can't keep living in that situation.
