About this song
Stevie Nicks wrote the song while staying in Aspen, Colorado, where she was inspired by looking at the mountains. It was never released as a single, but it is considered one of the band's most cherished songs. A live recording of the song reached number 51 in the US in 1998.
What it's about
The song uses the image of a snowy mountain avalanche as a metaphor for love and life, and for the fear that everything one has built could collapse at any time.
