About this song
The song was originally titled "I Don't Need Anything" before G-Eazy's collaborator heard the demo and the original verse lyrics were scrapped. It was released on October 14, 2015, as the second single from When It's Dark Out, following "You Got Me." It topped the Hot Rap Songs chart, peaked at 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, and became G-Eazy's first top ten hit.
What it's about
The song centers on the wish for privacy and the chance to escape through the music the two artists make together. The phrase in the title has come to mean being alone, without companionship.
