About this song

G-Eazy first performed the song at South by Southwest in 2015, and it was released as a pre-order bonus with his album When It's Dark Out. It was one of the most anticipated tracks from that album and was previewed in the album's trailer. Live, he uses an unreleased verse in place of the second verse.

What it's about

The song pushes back against the idea that G-Eazy got famous by luck, insisting that his success was earned. He performs it at every concert as a fight song to motivate himself and fire up the crowd.
