About this song
Dog Food is the second single from IDK's album Simple, and it was produced by KAYTRANADA. IDK first teased the track with a studio photo of himself and Denzel Curry, shared on his community Discord server in March 2022. The song was released on April 29, 2022, alongside a visualizer that explains the term "dog food" in the context of the track.
What it's about
The song addresses police activity, systemic racism, and the harsh scenes these issues create in the two artists' neighborhoods. The title refers to slang for heroin, a term used to speak discreetly about illegal drugs and avoid trouble with the law.
