About this song
Taco is the first single from IDK's 2022 album Simple, with production by KAYTRANADA. The collaboration was first teased through behind-the-scenes footage of the music video shared on IDK's TikTok in March 2022, filmed in Simple City (Benning Terrace) in Southeast Washington DC. Fans chose it over Breathe in an April 1 social media poll, and it was released as the album's first single a week later alongside the video, before which it had been titled Slide.
What it's about
The track has IDK settling scores and serving shells, with lyrics packed with gun bars and threats that look at the violent sides of his mind and the environment he grew up in. The title plays on the phrase's two meanings, as the shell of a bullet and the shell of a taco.
