The Adventures of Moon Man & Slim Shady

About this song

The song was announced by Kid Cudi's daughter, Vada, in an Instagram post on July 8, 2020. Cudi had hinted at a possible collaboration on Twitter two months before release, and Eminem learned of the tweet a day later on an episode of Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne. Cudi later explained on that show how he got in touch with Eminem, who responded after receiving the track. Eminem had also given Cudi a shoutout on the Bad Meets Evil track "All I Think About" from the 2015 Southpaw soundtrack.

What it's about

Cudi's verse is a stream-of-consciousness account of a night out, while Eminem's verse name-checks figures such as Lil Wayne and Drew Brees and touches on COVID-19 and police injustice. The title plays on Eminem's Slim Shady alter ego and Cudi's Moon Man nickname.
