A Milli

About this song

"A Milli" was released as the second single from Lil Wayne's album Tha Carter III. A version featuring Cory Gunz leaked before the album came out. The single was certified 6x platinum, peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the Hot Rap Tracks and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. Lil Wayne won a Grammy for the song in the Best Rap Solo Performance category in 2009. The bass-heavy beat was produced by Bangladesh and samples a phrase from Phife Dawg's intro on A Tribe Called Quest's "I Left My Wallet in El Segundo (Vampire Mix)." In 2010, Bangladesh spoke out about not receiving royalties from Cash Money for the track, and the dispute was settled out of court later that year.
