Self Care

About this song

The song was released as a single alongside a music video. In the video, Mac is buried in a pine box, which is meant to symbolize how the media tried to assassinate his character. Ariana Grande, who had been in a relationship with Mac, commented in a tweet that his inability to keep it together was a significant reason the relationship broke down.

What it's about

The song spreads a message about overcoming hardships, self control, and being aware of how to handle yourself. In the video, Mac lights a cigarette in the casket, carves "memento mori" into the lid, and punches through it to save himself, showing he refuses to give up.
