About this song
"papercuts" is the lead single from Machine Gun Kelly's sixth studio album, mainstream sellout. It has a grittier, more industrial sound than the pop-punk of his previous record, and blink-182 drummer Travis Barker plays percussion on it. A Cole Bennett-directed music video was released alongside the song, marking the first collaboration between the two and Bennett's first rock video.
What it's about
The song discusses MGK's struggles with living in the public eye, following his successful 2020 record Tickets to My Downfall and his high-profile relationship with actress Megan Fox.
