About this song
The title refers to space dementia, a condition described as causing mental instability and irrational behavior after a person enters outer space. NASA has only seen mild cases, and some believe the condition doesn't exist, though experts haven't fully ruled it out.
What it's about
Matt uses the idea of space dementia to describe the feeling he gets when he looks at the person he is singing about. He is in awe of them and admires and respects them in a way he can't explain, though it isn't quite love since they also make him sick.
