About this song
Originally released on October 15, 2013, the song was re-mixed in 2014 for NF's self-titled EP. With help from producer Tommee Profitt, it caught the attention of Capitol CMG, which led to deals for NF as an artist and Profitt as a producer. The song was also featured in a promo for NBC's Chicago P.D.
What it's about
The song is NF's message to people struggling with life, saying they cannot appreciate the good in their lives or fix their mistakes because they are metaphorically asleep. That state separates them from the happiness they were given by God.
