About this song
"Kill Bill" is the third single from SZA's second studio album, SOS. The song's production features a basic piano melody and a detuned but groovy rhythm. Christian Breslauer directed the official music video, in which SZA plays Beatrix "the Bride" Kiddo, and an official remix with an additional verse from Doja Cat was released on April 14, 2023, which pushed the track to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, SZA's first chart-topper.
What it's about
The song is a murder ballad about heartbreak and betrayal, in which SZA fantasizes about revenge on an ex who wronged her. Its title nods to the Kill Bill films, which share the same theme of revenge on an ex-lover.
