About this song
"My Favourite Game" is track 8 on The Cardigans' fourth album Gran Turismo, and it later featured in the opening of the Gran Turismo 2 video game. The band has said the recording sessions were marked by a lot of petty fighting. The song began as a slower, Neil Young-style country rock number before being changed into a fast-paced rocker. Jonas Åkerlund directed its music video, shot over three days in the Mojave Desert near Barstow, California, where Nina appears in a 1974 Cadillac Eldorado convertible.
What it's about
The lyrics follow a manipulative woman looking back on a recent breakup.
