GONE, GONE / THANK YOU

About this song

It is the tenth track on the album IGOR and follows the multi-part structure Tyler, The Creator has used for all of his tenth tracks since Bastard. The chorus of "GONE, GONE" samples "Hey Girl" by Cullen Omori. "THANK YOU" heavily interpolates the lyrics and melody of "Fragile" by Tatsuro Yamashita, an influential city pop artist from Japan.

What it's about

"GONE, GONE" finds Tyler thinking about losing his love for his partner, a theme discussed throughout the album. "THANK YOU" turns to Tyler thanking his partner for their love.
