Yonkers

About this song

"Yonkers" is the first single from Tyler, The Creator's debut album, Goblin, and is widely considered his breakout song. Tyler has said the beat was made as a joke, an attempt to mimic New York hip-hop production. The song was critically acclaimed on release despite its controversial lyrics, and its music video won Tyler the Best New Artist award at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. The video was also nominated for Video of the Year, losing to Katy Perry's "Firework."
