All The Small Things

About this song

Tom DeLonge wrote the song with Mark Hoppus, and it was the last song the trio recorded for their third album Enema of the State. It was one of three singles from that album that brought the band mainstream success, and the album remains their best-selling to date. DeLonge began the song with a guitar riff and aimed for a lot of na-na-na vocals as a nod to the Ramones, and the music video parodies the Backstreet Boys video for I Want It That Way.

What it's about

The song is inspired by DeLonge's then-girlfriend and later wife, Jenna Jenkins, and includes anecdotes about her, such as her leaving flowers on the stairs.
