RZA

About this song

RZA is the second track on BROCKHAMPTON's album The Family. The title refers to the American rapper and producer RZA, the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, who produced most of the group's projects and solo efforts from band members, keeping the group together since 1992.

What it's about

Kevin Abstract narrates his feelings about the departure of a band member, losing friends, and people around him asking why he doesn't keep the band together. His mom asks the same of the family, comparing it to her relationship with Ian's father, and the song reflects on the times he has criticized his mom on earlier tracks.
