About this song
Take It to the Limit was the third and final single from the Eagles' fourth album, One of These Nights. It reached No. 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 12 on the UK charts, the band's highest placing up to that point. Bassist Randy Meisner sang the song, and its popularity caused tension within the band, as Meisner was often reluctant to perform it live. The other members' insistence that he sing it led directly to Meisner leaving the group.
