Tequila Sunrise

About this song

It was the first single released from the Desperado album and was one of the first songs co-written by Frey and Henley. The Western-flavored style fits with other cowboy-themed songs on the album, such as Desperado. Henley recalled that Frey had a hand in the title, which he worried was too obvious, and Henley suggested looking at it from a different angle.

What it's about

The song tells a sad story of a lost love, with the title offered as the immediate fix for the problem.
