About this song
Elton John described the song as disposable pop and said he didn't want to be remembered for it. He told Rolling Stone he wouldn't want to still be playing it in 15 years.
What it's about
The song is likely inspired by Daddy Cool's Eagle Rock and Neil Sedaka's Oh! Carol. It uses metaphors to comment on how rock and roll has changed over time.
