About this song
Kiki Dee said she and Elton John were fans of the Motown duets by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and they decided to make one of their own. Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote the song under the aliases Ann Orson and Carte Blanche. It became John's first UK #1 single and his sixth #1 in the US, and it was included on Elton John's Greatest Hits Volume II rather than the album Blue Moves.
