Pink + White

About this song

Produced by Pharrell Williams, the song features backing vocals from Beyoncé. Frank Ocean used the colors in its title again on his 2012 album channel ORANGE, which also has tracks called "White" and "Pink Matter." Ocean had earlier been credited as a writer on Beyoncé's "I Miss You," and the two later collaborated on her track "Superpower."

What it's about

The song recalls Frank Ocean's youth and a close friend who has died, remembered through the lessons that person taught him. A sunset drive with that friend is central to the story, and a hurricane verse reflects on mortality and destruction, likely referring to Hurricane Katrina.
