About this song
"prick" is the fifth track and a promotional single from glaive's album old dog, new tricks. It was produced by Australian producer Perto, marking the first official collaboration between the two, and was first teased on Instagram on July 28, 2021, before its official release. The hyperpop-leaning track is paired with a music video full of bright visual effects and sci-fi touches.
What it's about
The song looks at a relationship marked by heavy conflict that eventually ends in a breakup. In the video, the relationship falls apart as the partner pushes glaive away, walks off and disappears, before glaive removes a virtual reality headset to reveal the whole relationship was a simulation.
