About this song
"Dirty Harry" was the first Gorillaz release of phase two, issued as a limited 12" white label vinyl promo with no band name or record label logo. The single art parodies the poster for Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam film Full Metal Jacket.
What it's about
The song examines war and soldiers, told from a first-person view of the battlefield. It revisits themes of violence and masculinity from the earlier single "Clint Eastwood" and takes its name from one of Eastwood's better-known films.
