About this song

The track's instrumental uses the same sample as Aminé's August 2020 track "Can't Decide," which was also produced by T-Minus. J. Cole has avoided features on his albums since 2014's Forest Hills Drive, and this is the second of two tracks on The Off-Season with guest rapping, the first guest verses on a Cole solo album since Born Sinner in 2013.

What it's about

Cole discusses pride, one of the seven deadly sins, and how it drives the behavior of himself and others. He also reflects on the good fortune of being successful and living to see ages that many of his friends did not, while Lil Baby talks about his wealth, his past life of drugs, and his responsibility to the people he grew up with.
