Bound 2

About this song

Unlike the industrial, electronic sound across most of Yeezus, this warm soulful track draws on West's earlier style. The soul instrumental and background vocals are sampled from the Ponderosa Twins Plus One's 1971 song "Bound," while the well-known "uh-huh, honey" comes from the intro to Brenda Lee's 1959 record "Sweet Nothin's." West first shared a short snippet of the song alongside the album cover casing for Yeezus, and it was one of three singles previewed before the album's release. It was one of the last tracks finished, with Rick Rubin enlisted to help complete it, and it peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

What it's about

The song is a tribute to West's partner, Kim Kardashian.
