About this song
"Bruises" is the second track and first single from Lewis Capaldi's debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. The song is presented in the expanded edition of that album.
What it's about
The song deals with heartache and the end of a long-term relationship. Capaldi explains that memories of an old relationship can be clouded, so that only the best parts are remembered, making it seem more appealing to hold on to or go back to than it really is.
