About this song
"Stay" was the fourth single released from Post Malone's sophomore album, beerbongs & bentleys. It has a much slower tempo than the three singles before it, and it is the first song on that album that the artist describes as pushing the genre. The song was performed live on the Bud Light Dive Bar Tour in Nashville, Tennessee, before an exclusive preview was released by Yahoo!.
What it's about
The song is about Post Malone's struggle to keep a relationship going with a girl. It may have been written during a brief period when he and his girlfriend, Ashlen, were apart.
