About this song
"Come Together" is the opening track on Abbey Road. John Lennon wrote it to be used as a campaign song for Timothy Leary, who was running for Governor of California at the time. Lennon later admitted that he often filled his lyrics with non-sequiturs, and the song was not a usable campaign song in the end.
What it's about
The lyrics are largely nonsensical wordplay rather than a clear story. It has been suggested that the verses refer to the Beatles' members or to Lennon himself, but the text does not confirm this.
