About this song
"Something" is the first track on Abbey Road that George Harrison wrote. Frank Sinatra praised it as one of the greatest love songs of all time, though he mistakenly introduced it in live performance as a Lennon-McCartney song. The song was released as a single paired with "Come Together", reaching #4 in the UK and #1 in the US.
What it's about
The song is widely believed to be about Pattie Boyd, Harrison's wife at the time, though Harrison later denied that it was about her. He said he was actually thinking of Ray Charles when he wrote it.
