About this song
It Will Rain was released in late 2011 as the lead single from the soundtrack of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. The track was written and produced by the Smeezingtons, made up of Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine. Mars has said he began working on it before he was asked to contribute to the soundtrack, and that it was never meant for his 2012 album Unorthodox Jukebox. After watching the movie, he felt it was the right song for it.
