About this song
Originally planned as the fourth and final single from Doo-Wops & Hooligans, the song was co-written and produced by Philip Lawrence. Lawrence said the initial image was a slow-motion Vegas scene of a couple running with a wedding party behind them, and that the idea was more racy than the classic marriage tune the song became. He said the band was surprised by how much the song affected pop culture, especially after seeing fan-made YouTube videos of it.
What it's about
The song is a pop love song in which the singer is so smitten with someone that he would marry her right away.
