About this song
"Centuries" is the lead single from Fall Out Boy's sixth studio album. Bassist Pete Wentz explained in an interview that the band came from the suburbs of Chicago, a place he described as very bland, and that the song draws on the David versus Goliath idea.
What it's about
The song is a grandiose track about the struggle to leave a lasting artistic mark. Wentz says it addresses how people who are criticized or called weird can still be leaders creating something new.
