Sugar, We're Goin Down

About this song

The song was released in April 2005 as the lead single from Fall Out Boy's second studio album, From Under the Cork Tree. It was the band's first top ten hit and is often credited with bringing them into the mainstream and exposing them to a new audience. Pete Wentz wrote the lyrics, and Patrick Stump deliberately slurred the chorus lyrics while singing.

What it's about

The music video follows a socially outcast boy with antlers who is persecuted by the father of the girl he likes and tries to remove his antlers to be accepted. After he discovers the father has hooves, the two connect through mutual acceptance of each other.
