About this song
"Animals (Pt. I)" is the closing track from JID's GDLU (Preluxe), released as a precursor to his upcoming album God Does Like Ugly. It reunites JID and Eminem after their 2024 collaboration "Fuel" on The Death of Slim Shady.
What it's about
JID shows off his lyrical precision with dense rhyme schemes and references to growth and self-mastery. Eminem, returning to his Slim Shady persona, adds a confrontational tone with violent metaphors, career reflection and nods to N.W.A. and his own legacy.
