About this song
The song is the sixth track on DROGAS WAVE. Lupe gave a brief summary of the LongChains narrative on reddit while DROGAS WAVE was being created, and the song is a central part of that narrative. The song also comments on his former label, Atlantic.
What it's about
The song is told from the perspective of kidnapped Africans who jumped overboard from slave ships during the Middle Passage, with their spirits imagined as still alive and traveling back to Africa. The title also plays on the idea of lines of slaves jumping into the waves.
