About this song
The title comes from a line spoken by Natalie Portman in the movie Closer, and the song has a lot of influence from that film. The band's guitarist Ryan Ross wrote it, along with other songs on the album, out of anger toward a girlfriend from home who had cheated on him and ended their three-year relationship. Ross told the Guardian in June 2008 that the breakup made him feel like the world had ended.
What it's about
The song seems to deal with cheating. Its video uses fish tanks and a stray fish as images of a girl sleeping with a boy and her boyfriend's reaction.
