Some listeners consider it a sequel to "Ignorance" because of its placement on the album and the music videos, with Hayley trapped in a dark room in that earlier video and in control of her bandmates in this one.

Hayley Williams argues with someone who feels superior to her and tries to control her life. In Hayley's words, the song is about self-righteous people and the hurt of dealing with them, and its chorus is about people who place blame without looking at themselves first.
