About this song
"15 Step" is the opening track of Radiohead's album In Rainbows. It starts with an electronic beat and builds into a full band number with warm guitar tones and propelling bass. The song is written in a 5/4 time signature, which keeps listeners from moving to it any slower than the beat itself.
What it's about
The song deals with love and betrayal, along with the repetition of failed pursuits. It sets a lack of progress in one's ambitions against the inevitable approach of death, and it conveys a sense of panic and dread about mortality.
