About this song
Written around the time of the Bosnian conflict in the 1990s, "Lucky" was recorded for the relief record The Help Album. The song was originally more politically explicit before it took its final form, and producer Nigel Godrich has said that finishing it was the starting point for OK Computer.
What it's about
The finished song describes a plane crash and heavily reflects Thom Yorke's fear of long-distance travel, a theme he also explored in other Radiohead songs such as "Airbag."
