About this song
The text says the song sets the stage for the rest of Amnesiac, and it describes its spooky piano chords and strings. It also notes an unusual rhythm that is debated among fans, and that the sheet music uses a 4/4 time signature despite that rhythm.
What it's about
John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats offers his reading of the song as a hand reaching out of a rabbit hole with drugged candy, with ghosts and the promise of bad times ahead rather than rabbits inside.
