About this song
Released on May 26, 2003, "There There" was the first single from Hail to the Thief. The song is marked by heavy tom-tom drums played by Johnny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway, along with murky, reverb-laden guitars. Over its roughly five minutes it builds to a loud crescendo topped with a distorted guitar riff, and it has become a crowd favorite at the band's live shows. Thom felt it was the best thing the band had ever recorded.
