The Morning

About this song

This is the second of three tracks produced by Jeremy Rose that were secured for the project. The version on House of Balloons and Trilogy is not the Rose-produced version. Rose's demo, one of three 2010 releases that first drew listeners to The Weeknd, featured pitched-down rapping and a faster tempo, likely recorded during The Weeknd's Kin Kane days. Taylor Swift is among the fans who favor the song, and it has appeared on Capital Xtra's and Red Bull's lists of best Weeknd songs.

What it's about

The morning arrives after a high-energy night, and the woman with Abel leaves while Abel reflects on his musical progress and on the women who appear in his nightlife, including prostitutes and strippers.
