About this song
Over half of the track was previewed during JID's live performance for the Vans Sidestripe Session, nearly a year before its release. Two months before that, on May 29, 2021, he revealed the song's title and called it the hardest song on the album to write.
What it's about
The song tells a story about the bond between JID and his six siblings, built on their impulsiveness and rowdy family dynamic. It recounts a street brawl in New Orleans that ends with the siblings in a paddy wagon, and uses the idea of a crack sandwich as a metaphor for how each family member adds to the chaotic mix.
