About this song
"PRIDE." is presented as an introspective track that continues the religious themes running through the album. Its soft-spoken beat is set against the bombastic beat of "HUMBLE.", and the contrast is described as intentional, with each instrumental working against the topic of its own song. The vocal pitch shifts from high to low throughout, reflecting the gap between ideals and actions.
What it's about
The song looks at the rapper's own pride and his sense of being one of the best rappers alive, which creates tension between his ideals and his actions. It draws on the idea that pride leads to disgrace while humility brings wisdom.
